![]() Maybe it's because I did all this on Fiverr, and their "gig" style payment system may have narrowed how flexible the animators were willing to be with their own pricing. I only contacted about five artists, but their similar responses honestly bummed me out. I figured that purchasing a couple dozen 2D illustrations, while not exactly a simple task, would be significantly less expensive than paying for rigging and animation. ![]() To my surprise, all of them desired a price that was still well outside my budget. In retrospect I probably should've contacted an illustrator and not those specializing more in the animation side of design. Since I came into this knowing I had a very limited budget (I was willing to pay up to $500) alongside the fact I already have some basic understanding of character rigging and animation, I only asked for the modeling phase of the project to be done by them. Recently I asked several artists on Fiverr how much I should pay them in order to create the individual "segments" of each character featured in my original project. Let me preface this by saying that I'm embarrassingly unfamiliar with how different kinda of art and animation are priced.
